Do you have a Bernard in your attic? We certainly do! He loves to run around a scream with his brushtail possum buddies in the middle of the night and leave beautiful wee stains in our ceiling! Despite this, I am quite fond of brushtail possums.. they belong in our Australian landscape more than European settlers and I'm sure that they have many stories to tell!

I drew Bernard the Brushtail Possum while (wo)manning my stall at Adelaide's moon lantern festival several years ago. I was situated right next to the stage and it was quite loud which meant that I didn't get too many visitors. Fortunately I did have time to do lots of drawing and Bernard was born! Funnily enough, he then decided to sit forgotten in a draw for a couple of years until I found him and decided to give him some fame as a print!
